Gastronomic route through Liebana Valley

Liébana is one of the best known regions in Cantabria, in the heart of spectacular mountains and stunning natural surroundings. Apart from this, Liebana is also very well known for its rich gastronomy. Our first stop during this route will be in Unquera a famous village for its butter pastries (“corbatas”), so we will stop to try them at a local coffee shop. After that we will get into the impressive Desfiladero de la Hermida, a ravine extending for 20 km, that leads to Liébana. Once we get there, we will visit a local wine cellar where you will taste different local products. After that we will head to Potes (the most important village of this area) for lunch, where you will try the typical “lebaniego” stew. We will need a long walk after lunch, and after that on our way back to the Hotel, we will make a stop at Santillana del Mar, a lovely medieval village, for a last snack.
